There’s some fresh fur in the competition at this year’s National Dog Show.
Three new breeds are making their debut at the American Kennel Club’s annual event in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, joining more than 200 other breeds competing for the spotlight.
And these newcomers have some pretty unforgettable names, the Basset Fauve de Bretagne, the Russian Tsvetnaya Bolonka and the Teddy Roosevelt Terrier.
The three breeds will make their first appearance in the competition when the National Dog Show takes place Nov. 14 and 15 at the Philadelphia Expo Center.
If you can’t make it in person, you can still get your fill of furry faces when the National Dog Show airs nationally on NBC10 on Thanksgiving Day.
Here’s what you need to know about the new breeds:
Russian Tsvetnaya Bolonka

The Russian Tsvetnaya Bolonka is a small, curly-coated lapdog from Russia known for its sweet personality, love of cuddles and friendly nature.
Weighing just 7 to 9 pounds, this affectionate breed is part of the Bichon family and makes a great companion for those who live in apartments and anyone looking for a pint-sized best friend.
Basset Fauve de Bretagne

The Basset Fauve de Bretagne is a short-legged, scruffy-coated French hunting dog known for its big personality, impressive sense of smell and signature “aahrooo” howl.
Dating back centuries, this energetic and friendly breed loves chasing rabbits in the field but is just as happy curling up with its humans after a long day.
Teddy Roosevelt Terrier

The Teddy Roosevelt Terrier is a small, short-legged American breed known for its spirited personality, smooth coat and muscular build.
Named in honor of President Theodore Roosevelt, this energetic dog loves chasing vermin, competing in dog sports and relaxing beside its owner at the end of the day.
